Team Leader Grafton

The Team Leader Grafton is responsible for the management (and delivery of) a broad range of client service and tenancy management services in the Clarence Valley area.

The role involves monitoring the work of the local housing team and liaising with and assisting the Housing Services Manager in ensuring there are effective responses to policy, procedural and system needs. The position ensures that important relationships with community agencies and other key stakeholders are built and maintained, including participating in the regular review of all supported housing arrangements between the Company and local agencies.

The Team Leader Grafton is also responsible for direct tenancy management services for an allocated portfolio of rental properties.

Job Position: Tenancy Support Worker (Lismore NSW)

Full time position

North Coast Community Housing Company (NCCHC) is the premier provider of Social and Affordable housing in the NSW Northern Rivers area. Operating from a head office in Lismore and with branches in Tweed Heads and Grafton, the team of more than 20 personnel and manages over 850 tenancies under a variety of housing programs.

This newly created challenging role based in Lismore but operating across the organisation's entire region, involves working in conjunction with the NCCHC Tenancy Managers on issues concerning "at-risk" tenancies, including the development of tenancy management plans, particularly where the tenant/households may have complex needs.

The role also includes engaging the local community and support agencies in building and managing individual plans aimed at creating sustainable tenancies. Developing appropriate and relevant service information resources for tenants and where appropriate, working directly with tenants on ongoing matters affecting their tenancy with NCCHC also forms an important part of this role.

Additional duties include assisting with the development of best-practice standards, policies, practices and systems in relation to the promotion of sustainable social housing tenancies.

Key Position Requirements:

Completion of Tertiary studies in the social sciences and/or humanities field
Demonstrated expertise in the provision of support services to clients with complex needs and/or the development of support and case management plans for vulnerable clients
An understanding of housing issues and empathy for clients with high or special needs
High level organisational skills, with the capacity to deal with multiple and often conflicting priorities
Demonstrated achievement in building effective working relationships and partnerships in the not-for-profit sector
Effective written and verbal communication skills and the capacity to work effectively and positively within a multi-disciplinary team
Well-developed computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office programs particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Unrestricted NSW driver's licence

Desirable Position Requirements:

Knowledge of tenancy-related law in NSW

Lismore has a full range of facilities and services including a University, several hospitals and specialist medical facilities and numerous public and private schools. Lismore is ideally situated close to popular North Coast beaches (including Byron Bay) and World Heritage National Parks. It is within two hours drive of the Gold Coast and Brisbane.
